Ibuprofen is a medication used to treat inflammation, pain and fever. It is typically used for mild to moderate pain relief. Evidence is mixed for its use to relieve fever in children. It is often sold in combination with other medications, such as in many cold medications.

Mechanism Of Action
Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that inhibits cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2) and subsequent synthesis of prostaglandins and related compounds at peripheral sites within injured tissue.
Infants >6 months and Children <50kg – Min Dose – 4 – 10mg/kg/dose 6-8 hourly if needed.
Max Dose – 40mg/kg/day
Used As– Fever, Pain, Inflammation
Contraindicated – Not Safe in Pregnancy
